🥾THE SOUTHCENTRAL ALASKA 100 HIKES CHALLENGE IS HERE 🥾

I’m super duper excited to introduce the Southcentral Alaska 100 Hikes Challenge and Logbook!

This hiking challenge was created to encourage hikers to explore new trails and areas within Southcentral Alaska 🏔

I selected 💯 hiking trails with varying difficulty levels and lengths all around the Southcentral region of Alaska—from Kachemak Bay to Wrangell St. Elias N.P. Some of these trails may be familiar favorites and others you may not have even heard of!

You can track your progress with the Southcentral Alaska 100 Hikes Logbook, which includes a checklist of the 100 hikes that you can check off as you complete them ☑️

Each hike has its own prompts to help you document your adventure, as well as a section for notes ✍🏼 and a section to attach a photo or draw a picture 🖼

The best part is that this challenge doesn’t need to be completed within a certain amount of time. Whether your logbook sits in your pack or on top of your coffee table, you can cross these hikes off at your own leisurely pace!

Searching for the The Dark Knight’s lair hidden behind Henrhyd Falls.

Henrhyd Falls is the tallest waterfall in South Wales at 88 feet and can be found in Brecon Beacons National Park.

One of my favorite early season bike rides is the Eklutna Lakeside Trail 🚴🏻‍♀️

It’s an easy, 12.7-mile out-and-back trail located in Chugach State Park (1 hour drive north of Anchorage).

The trail follows Eklutna Lake for seven miles and then continues along the river to the moraines of Eklutna Glacier.

There are several connecting hiking trails to make it a bike and hike adventure.

Here are the mile markers:

Mile 0.5 Twin Peaks Trail
Mile 5 Bold Ridge Trail
Mile 11 East Fork Trail
Mile 12.7 Serenity Falls
Mile 13 Eklutna Glacier

Barbara Falls also known as South Fork Falls is a little gem tucked away in Eagle River. You can see it from a lower and upper viewpoint.

It’s one of the easiest waterfall hikes in Southcentral Alaska and can be accessed year-round.
